What is the difference between a sliding door and a sliding glass door?
There is no technical difference—the terms are synonymous and describe the same mechanism of sliding along a track. Both terms are commonly used in the Romanian market.
What glass thickness is recommended for a frameless door?
Standard: 10 mm for frameless interior doors; 12 mm for large openings or high-traffic areas. 8 mm is available for doors with aluminum frames or light-duty applications. The exact recommendation depends on the opening dimensions and the type of fittings.
Can a glass door be installed without structural modifications?
Yes, with the exception of the in-wall system, which requires prior preparation of the cavity. Standard hinged and sliding systems are mounted to the floor, ceiling, and wall without altering the load-bearing structure.
Can the glass be further processed after it has been tempered?
No. Any processing—drilling, grooving, sandblasting, or special polishing—must be performed before the tempering process. At TDC Glass, all processing is done on the raw glass before tempering.
