Why Does In-House
Lamination Matter?
Without in-house lamination capabilities, a whole range of finished products—thermally laminated glass, laminated insulated glass units, balustrades, stairs, and facade panels—would require outsourcing, with a direct impact on lead times and quality control.
The glass laminating line covers the entire in-house process: from sheet cutting to assembly, vacuuming, and a controlled thermal cycle in the oven. The process ensures uniform adhesion between layers, free of inclusions, bubbles, or delamination—an essential requirement for structural and safety applications.

How Laminated Glass Is Manufactured
The rolling process follows precise temperature and duration specifications, tailored to the thickness of the configuration and the type of film used:

Surface preparation
The glass sheets are cleaned with alcohol before assembly to remove any traces of dust, grease, or residue that could compromise the film’s adhesion.
TDC Glass uses EVA film
Which outperforms PVB film in terms of moisture resistance, long-term color stability, and UV filtration of up to 99%. The EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) film is precisely positioned between the glass panes.

Vacuum packaging
The product is subjected to a vacuum process, which removes the air between the layers before it enters the oven.

Controlled thermal cycle
The Pujol HLH oven performs the thermal cycle according to the selected recipe—temperature, ramp rate, and hold time—ensuring complete fusion of the film with the glass surfaces.

Complete processing line
The oven supports glass lamination in configurations starting at 6 mm, including combinations with safety glass (thermally laminated)—the individual sheets are pre-tempered in the Tamglass HTF Super oven and subsequently laminated with EVA film. Having both glass processing machines available in the same in-house workflow eliminates the need for outsourcing and reduces turnaround times.
Glass sheets are cut on the Bottero 520 LAMe with a precision of ±0.5 mm, while CNC processing, including drilling, milling, and custom shapes, is carried out on the Denver Advance Plus, supporting glass sizes of up to 2,450 × 3,900 mm.

Can tempered glass be laminated in the same production line?
Yes. TDC Glass has both a tempering oven and a laminating oven within the same in-house production line. The sheets are first tempered, then laminated—to produce laminated glass without outsourcing and without additional logistics time.
